We’re not really sure what it is about Birkenstocks, but you can’t not love them — especially in the summertime. The sandal burst onto the scene way back in the ’60s, and though they wane in popularity every now and again, they keep popping up as a new trend every couple of years or so — and we’re totally not complaining. Birks are comfy and versatile, and they have a hippie vibe everyone can dig, even if you’re the furthest thing from a hippie.

But for a sandal that was first made popular by the all-natural, peace-and-one-love crowd, Birkenstocks sure cost a pretty penny.
