The Pitch: Janylle Radden sells the ultimate bachelorette experience

Did Janylle Radden sell you in her 60 seconds? Soon-to-be-married entrepreneur Radden desperately wants to breathe new life into the traditional bachelorette/bachelor parties. (I mean, how many times can one go to Vegas?)

Name: Janylle Radden

What you’re pitching:Ball Before the Chain — a bespoke planning service focused on bachelor and bachelorette party outings. The company exists in order to remove the stress from planning and hosting a multiplayer excursion and allow each participant to enjoy the moment.

Position: Founder, Ball Before the Chain

Hails from: Got my roots and my wings growing up in Phoenix. Tested my wings and learned I could fly in Miami and now establishing a new set of roots, creating a household with the fiancé in NYC.

Birthday: I’ve got nothin’ to hide, plus my golden birthday is coming up! July 31, 1984.

Personal life: Engaged to be married — hence the business idea 🙂

Priors: I’ve spent most of my career in hospitality. I’ve run F&B departments at luxury hotels and owned my own personal concierge and lifestyle management business prior to this.

Pitch inspired by: My own experiences and those of my friends who were/are getting married.

Mentor(s)/people who inspire: My grandmother was a big inspiration to me. She believed in living her life how she wanted to and didn’t let anything stop her. Another person I’m recently inspired by is Jessica Alba. I love that she went from playing the pretty girl who didn’t need to say much to being a force to be reckoned with in business — especially in an industry where people love to look for flaws. She has done well to maintain the integrity of her product lines and created a billion-dollar business in the process.

Words to live by: 1) “Go big or go home,” and  2) “Thank you”

I feel that including #2 in day-to-day vocabulary as often as possible can change the world.

Last read/watched/listened: Watched: Game of Thrones (and I’m still recovering); Listened: most likely Stevie Wonder — he’s always welcome on any playlist of mine. I can’t clean the house without him! Read: What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty

Expert in: Sarcastic comments, exclusive experiences, being a therapist to my friends

Social:InstagramFacebook and the occasional blog post on Ball Before the Chain

Guilty pleasure:Dance Moms (ahhh, I’m so embarrassed, but I do love that show).

How you recharge: I get some sunlight. I have always been invigorated and revitalized by the sun, so even just stepping outside for a bit is helpful.

Tops on your travel wish list: Amalfi Coast, South Africa and… Atlantic City (even though none of my friends want to go with me)!

Favorite exercise: Yoga or spin

Favorite products: Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Cheesecake :-), Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche perfume, Neutrogena Oil-Free moisturizer with SPF 15 and CHI Silk Infusion

What does it take to change someone’s mind? To convince them to buy a product, modify their daily routine or completely make over their lives? Could you sell someone on an idea in under 60 seconds?
