Rachel Smith & Kim Moore’s app curates content based on users’ feelings

Here are 10 questions for Rachel and Kim.

Where are you from? Cape Cod, Colorado and Texas.

Why is your Pitch a game changer? Everything we do is based on feeling — trying to find something to match a feeling, quell a feeling, illuminate a feeling, but no app has ever directly addressed them. Our app delivers content explicitly based on how you feel.

First job? Working on a farm and waiting tables.

Who is your biggest advocate? Each other! This project has been a big departure for both of us, but it serves as a perfect example of the importance finding a work partner whose strengths complement your own. We joke that Kim is all “brain” and Rachel is all “heart,” but that’s not too far from the truth. It has allowed us to nurture this project in a way that brought out the best in each other!

Light bulb moment? Many a night spent feeling depressed about work and unable to sleep at 3:00 a.m… just wishing there was something that could help us find solace and/or inspiration.

Who inspires you this week? Ahmed Mohamed from Irvine, Texas, because while he was the victim of a rush to judgement by a group of adults, he has managed to carry himself with such wide-eyed curiosity and excitement. It’s exciting to see young people that want to challenge and excel and to not be deterred by small-mindedness.

Where do you do your best work? We are yin and yang on this issue. Rachel does her best work sitting on the floor before the sun rises, but Kim is a true night owl that thrives anywhere with a view after 10:00 p.m.

Favorite female-led entrepreneurial venture outside your own? Nancy Lublin’s Do Something — she is doing incredible things to bring information and awareness to teenagers at their most vulnerable time.

In 10 years you will be… Well, IFeelX will have been a success for quite a few years by then, so we both hope to be doing something meaningful with our time that highlights women both in and out of the tech world. Of course, this work will be being done from a beach somewhere…

Guilty pleasure? We became friends more than a decade ago on a strange night that involved a lot of dancing and tequila, and things really haven’t changed that much… so we’ll go with tequila.
