Most beauty products have an interesting history and mascara is no exception. From coal to animal feces, mascara started out as something you would never want to wear on your eyelashes today.

Thankfully, it’s evolved into a consumer-friendly must-have for most women because between my mascara and my brow liner, I don’t even know who I am.
