Terminally-ill groom fulfills his last wish in this heartbreaking video

Rowden and Leizel planned to get married on July 8, 2014, but a terminal liver cancer diagnosis changed everything.

Rowden Go and girlfriend Leizel May made big plans for 2014. The Philippines-based couple, parents to 2-year-old Zakiah Rowzel, planned to make their relationship official with a wedding set for July 8 — his 30th birthday.

Everything changed in May when Rowden was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer, a particularly aggressive form of cancer with low survival rates. He was soon confined to a hospital bed, but that didn’t stop him from asking for one final wish: to marry his girlfriend.

His family sprung into action and quickly planned a ceremony.

“After 12 hours of preparations, his dream was fulfilled,” his brother, Hasset Go, wrote on YouTube. “Unable to take him outside the hospital, we brought the church to him.”

The ceremony — documented on video — showed Leizel preparing for her big walk down the aisle to her groom while family guided Rowden’s bed down the hospital corridor to wait for her big arrival.

Family and friends cried as the pair exchanged their vows with their daughter at their side. He was visibly weak during the ceremony, but instantly perked up with a smile as his bride leaned in for a kiss.

“It was like a heartbreaking fairytale,” Hasset added.

Then, 10 hours later, Rowden lost his battle with cancer.

“Our family would like to thank the Main Man up above, Jesus Christ, for orchestrating this very inspiring story,” Hasset added. “And for giving us enough time to give Rowden what he wanted, and show him how loved he was.”

Grab the box of tissues, because you won’t be able to stop the tears when you watch this heartbreaking and sweet love story.
