Flower girl and ring bearer get married after 20 years

If there is a more romantic story than the one about the flower girl and ring bearer who met again 15 years later in a college class, then married each other five years after that in a beautiful and romantic ceremony, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard it. And the best part is, this one is true.

Brittney and Briggs Fussy walked down the aisle together — for the second time — in Minnesota this past weekend. The first time was in 1995 when the two served as the flower girl and ring bearer at a family wedding. Back then they walked in together as well. Arm in arm.

Can I get a collective awwww? Because honestly, could anything be cuter?

After 1995, Brittney and Briggs didn’t see each other again until Brittney spotted him in college and told him she thought she had a photo of him. How did she even recognize him? Must be fate, right?

They made a date that night and the rest is history. After five years together, this is what happened:

It’s hard to imagine a more happy love story than the one these two have. There is something so special about having met in childhood that really does sustain a strong marriage. My husband and I grew up together in the Midwest and re-met when we were both on the East Coast 10 years later. Having that childhood connection really does come in handy a lot. His memories are mine and vice versa.

“Do you remember that kid?” Yes. “Do you remember that place?” Yes. “Do you remember that thing that only people from our town did?” Yes, yes, yes. There is something immensely comforting about it, especially when you live far away from the place of your childhood.

All of this is to say, this couple has a massive head start on happily ever after. The beauty has only just begun.
