DIY wedding favors

Lucky for us, Style Me Pretty has so many adorable projects. Try not to gawk but we’ll warn you, these DIY wedding favors are too cute for words.

BUTTERFLY RICE TOSSER

The best part about this project, and just about evey project in this round up, is that you can customize it to fit your own wedding theme. Interchange the cardstock color and the butterflies for choices that match your own reception’s vibe. Pick a quote or saying that you and your hubby-to-be agree on (in this example, it so aptly says “Come fly with us”) and stack the finished rice tossers in a basket for guests to snag as they walk in.

ICE CREAM IN A JAR

Who knew homemade ice cream was so easy? The ingredients are easy to come by and bundling them all into a mason jar gives this wedding favor a classic, timeless appeal. All that happens on your end is gathering some simple tools and packing them (quite adorably) into a jar. The rest is up to your guests! The kid attendees will love this wedding favor, while the adults will eat this idea all up.

Check out the post on Style Me Pretty, submitted by City Cradle Design, to find out just how easy it is.

Cranberry flavored liquor bottles

Everyone loves liqueur at a wedding, especially the wedding party. Put yourself in their shoes — they’re wearing clothes you’ve made them wear and they’ve witnessed first hand the stress of the wedding plans. They may have even traveled a far distance to be with you on your big day. We say, and I think they would agree, you should reward them with their very own bottle filled with a homemade cocktail.
Pick up some decorative bottles at a home goods or craft store and serve them a tasteful treat post walking down the aisle. Prepare a little speeach and toast a big thanks before kicking off the reception. Consider it a short but sweet private get together with the bridemaids and groomsmen before the real party starts. In college they called it, pre-gaming?

Do it yourself candy poppers

Talk about simple. With a total of five steps, you could probably make these in record time and in the end you’ll be stuck with a super elegant table setting (oh darn). If you’re feeling inspired, customize the message on each popper for individual guests. They’ll appreciate the personal touch and will only find it that much more darling.
If you know of a little one attending the reception who loves a certain kind of candy, make sure to include it in their popper. To make it interesting, turn your candy popper wedding favors into a game that will kick off the reception. Sneak special items into some of the poppers — whoever winds up with those poppers has to______(fill in the blank).

Homemade mini pies

Break out your baking guns, ladies. These pies are too cute not to try. Whether it be at a bridal shower, wedding reception or wedding brunch, sweet tooths will thank you after all the “I DOs” are said and done. Get crafty with how you present them — tie them in a decorative ribbon, like shown above, or come up with something that fits your personal style. Attach a mini thank you tag to your mini dessert delight and either use them as table setting decor or seating assignments for guests as they funnel into the reception. These are sure to get a hoot and hollar from big and small guests alike.
