5 Fun ways to support a friend with breast cancer

If your close friend has breast cancer, you can help her in more ways than you know. We’ve got the top five fun ways you can show your gal pal you care.

Breast cancer is a disease that affects so many women, and it’s always inspiring when woman band together to support the cause. If you’re looking for a special way to support your friend who has breast cancer this October (besides supporting her emotionally, obviously!), check out these fun ways that’ll make her smile!

Walk it off

Grabbing a group of your favorite gal pals and taking part in a walk to cure breast cancer is a great way to support your friend. And whether you’re walking or sitting on the sidelines with your gal of honor, The Walking Company’s Walking for Hope campaign collection has a shoe to fit your every need. The exclusive collection (available only online or in Walking Company stores) features shoes from UGG Australia (we love these comfy pink Classic Short boots), ECCO (we’d pick these for walking) and several other brands, and will benefit the City of Hope, National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and local charitable organizations.

Show off your sweet side

What woman doesn’t love cupcakes? We certainly do, and we’re loving the Susan G. Komen Dozen from Georgetown Cupcake ($29 per dozen). The full price of the delicious dozen (six valrhona chocolate cupcakes and six vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting topped with Susan G. Komen fondant) will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Curethroughout the month of October.

Wear support on your sleeve

You don’t have to make a grand gesture to show your friend you care. If you’re stopping by for a girls’ night in, wear a cute supportive t-shirt like this one from Old Navy. Available in-store and online, this adorable pink iPromise Hope Fight Cure Tee ($24.94) will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with five percent of proceeds.

Be a force of beauty

There are plenty of beauty brands out there that support breast cancer awareness during October and giving your friend a cute little beauty trinket is the perfect way to show her you care. We love this Pink Body Scrub from Simple Sugars ($24) and are so excited to hear that half of the net sales go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Be a gem

Why stop supporting the cause after October? We love the fact that Marco Polo Designs donates a portion of the proceeds from each sale of Strawberry Cream Jewelryto breast cancer research all year round! Whether you wear it yourself or give it to your friend, you’ll be showing you support the cause that’s so dear to so many women’s hearts.
