Kids just love playing with glow sticks, and they are extra fun on Halloween. Check out these cool glow stick crafts for some Halloween fun after dark!
Halloween glow stick balloons
What you’ll need:
- white latex balloons
- glow sticks
- black permanent marker
What you’ll do:
- Snap the glow stick, then shake it until it starts to glow.
- Slide the glow stick in the balloon. You may need to stretch the balloon a bit to get it to fit.
- Inflate the balloon and tie it off.
- Draw faces on the balloons with the permanent marker.
Glow in the dark cup bowling
What you’ll need:
- white or clear plastic cups
- glow sticks
- clear tape
- permanent marker
- ball or bean bag
What you’ll do:
- Turn the cups upside down and use the permanent marker to draw spooky ghost faces on the cups.
- Snap the glow sticks and shake them until they start glowing.
- Fold the glow stick and slide it into the cup. Use a piece of clear tape to keep it in place.
- Arrange the plastic cups like bowling pins, then turn off the lights and use a ball or bean bag to knock them over.
Glow stick spider
What you’ll need:
- 4-inch plastic foam (i.e., Styrofoam) ball
- 8 glow sticks
- glow in the dark puffy paint
What you’ll do:
- Snap each of the 8 glow sticks and shake them to mix together the chemicals inside.
- Poke 4 glow sticks in a row approximately 1 inch deep on the plastic foam ball. Poke the other 4 glow sticks in on the opposite side of the first glow sticks.
- Use glow in the dark puffy paint to paint the spider’s face on the plastic foam ball.
Glow stick spooky eyes
What you’ll need:
- empty cardboard containers
- pen
- scissors
- glow sticks
What you’ll do:
- Gather up some empty cardboard containers. Toilet paper rolls, empty cereal boxes and oatmeal canisters all work well.
- Draw eyes on the cardboard container with a pen, then cut out the eye shape with scissors.
- Snap the glow stick and place it inside the cardboard container.
- Place the cardboard container in a bush or a tree outside to create the look of spooky eyes after dark.
