50 Fun eyeglasses for kids

Glasses are trendy and there are more style options than ever. We’ve rounded up some of the most popular brands of eyeglasses for children. Which pair will your child want?

“We’re seeing kids’ eyeglasses in bite-sized versions of adult contemporary glasses,” says Michelle Lane, designer and stylist at Coastal.com, the world’s largest online eyewear retailer. “Cool gummy greens and blues are big for the boys, while the girls are looking cute in mini versions of trendy, oversized round shapes.”

Colors

Colorful frames are in, according to The Vision Council‘s Fall 2013 eyecessorize Children’s Look Book.

Girls will enjoy whimsical purples and brilliant pops of blue, pink and red. The JKL 5001 Gummy Purple Eyeglasses from JKL Eyewear are a delightful example. These stylish glasses boast purple acetate round frames and multicolor arms. (Coastal.com, $48)

Boys don’t have to settle for black or brown either. Look for blues and greens, intense color-blocking and fun tortoiseshell prints. Boys, on the other hand, should look for athletic wraparounds, wayfarer styles and traditional square profiles. Dakota Smith is an eyewear brand that is all about “urban cool” shapes for guys only. Their Y-Sport Tweak Matte Brown Eyeglasses definitely pack a Generation Y punch. (Coastal.com, $58)

Zoobug Spy Eyeglasses are a terrific retro option for boys ages 9 to 12. The full, square frame comes in a variety of masculine hues and surrounds the anti-shatterproof polycarbonate lenses for a sturdy, stylish look. (ACLens.com, $107)
