New mom Kate Middleton always looks polished, yet chic as she mixes high-end designer items with more affordable pieces. Copy her trendy style at the Ring of Fire races, wearing a green Ralph Lauren blazer with her favorite Paige jeans, and find out where you can pick up her gorgeous knot front dress that she wore for her first official portrait with Prince George.
New mom Kate Middleton looked chic and happy as she made one of her first post-baby appearances, five weeks after her son Prince George was born.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William ventured out, leaving their son at home with his grandmother, Carole Middleton, as they enjoyed the Ring of Fire race in Wales on Aug. 30. Kate’s style is polished, yet casual, as she pairs skinny jeans with wedges and a blazer.
The new mom is wearing a green Ralph Lauren Wool Blazer with Leather Trim, no longer available in green, however can be purchased in navy blue (MyTheresa.com, $845). Don’t have her princess-sized budget? You can copy her look with the pictured Caslon Roll Sleeve Blazer in olive (Nordstrom, $59).
Kate pairs her blazer with the pictured Zara White Printed Bow Top, which she was also spotted wearing while vising the Swiss Alps last March. This patterned silk blouse was priced at only $59 — however, it is unfortunately sold out. We found a top with almost the exact same print and style in this Tahari by ASL’s satin shell blouse (Macy’s, $32).
The Duchess is wearing her favorite black skinny jeans, which are the pictured Paige Denim Skyline Ankle Peg jeans in black ink (Paige, $158) or, for a budget-friendly option, pick up a pair of women’s The Flirt Black Skinny Jeans (Old Navy, $25).
Kate finishes off her chic mom look with Pied A Terre Imperia Slingback Espadrille Wedges (ASOS, $126), however (you guessed it!) they are out of stock — but we found these similar Me Too Bethany Espadrille wedges on sale (Piperlime, $45) which are normally priced at $100.
Even though Middleton is already back in her non-maternity jeans, maternity designer Liz Lange says that many women will wear their maternity jeans during those first few post-pregnancy months. “To stay comfortable while still looking presentable during maternity leave, I suggest pairing a nursing-friendly tank (long enough to cover any problem areas) with stretchy black pants or cropped maternity jeans,” she says.
