Snow day ring toss

A little active play can go a long way when everyone is stuck inside on a snowy day. Get kids moving with this snow day ring toss game.

Supplies:

  • Empty Pringles can
  • Colored felt or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Paper plates
  • Snowflake sequins
  • Scissors
  • Rice

Directions:

  1. Wrap colored felt or construction paper around the empty Pringles can and glue it in place.
  2. Glue snowflake sequins to the can for extra decoration.
  3. Fill the can up with rice so that it doesn’t tip over, then place the lid back on top of the can.
  4. Cut the center out of several paper plates. Kids can draw on the plates or write their names on them. Toss the plates and try to get them to land around the Pringles can.

Snowman sensory craft

Create a fun sensory experience without all the mess! You can put together this snowman sensory craft with a few simple supplies from around the house.

Supplies:

  • Gallon size zip-top plastic bag
  • Black construction paper
  • Orange construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Shaving cream

Directions:

  1. Cut out 7 small circles from black construction paper. Glue 2 circles to the plastic bag to form the eyes, then glue the remaining 5 circles to the bag to make the smile.
  2. Cut a carrot shape for the nose out of orange construction paper, then glue it to the bag.
  3. Once the glue is dry, fill the bag with shaving cream. To avoid any messy spills, tape the top of the bag shut.
  4. Cut a long skinny rectangle and a large square out of the construction paper. Tape the square to the top of the bag, then glue the long rectangle over the base of the square to form the snowman’s hat.
