7 Spring cleaning chores for your children

The days when mom was expected to clean and do everything on her own are over!

t Seems like winter just started. But now that the winter vortex has vanished, spring is really just around the corner. In fact, March 20 is the first day of spring, and that means it’s high time to get your house in order and start spring cleaning! If you’re like me, it’s a chore that will surely defeat you if you don’t recruit help. And no, I don’t mean hiring Molly Maids to assist you in making your house sparkle. Your cleaning crew, aka your kids, live with you! Put a broom and dustpan in their sticky hands and enlist them to do their part to help out with household chores and cleaning. The days when mom was expected to clean and do everything on her own with a big smile and a perfect bouffant are over! Kids as young as three years old are expected to do their fair share.

Age 3 and 4

  • Place dirty laundry in hamper

Ages 5 and 6

  • Get dressed with minimal parental help
