If you’re keen to keep your kids occupied and entertained these school holidays, but your budget is limited, your search is over! Here are some fiscal-friendly activities that your children will love.
Hit up the local swimming haunt
There’s no better way to spend a hot summer’s day than by visiting the local swimming spot. Whether that’s the beach or a public swimming pool, hitting the waves is a fun way to spend the day. Pack a picnic lunch and be sure to bring a few fun floaty games for the water.
Stage a photoshoot
For an entertaining day with the kids that truly doesn’t break the budget, raid the dress up box and stage a “photoshoot” with your kids. Have them dress up in silly costumes with crazy hats, necklaces and scarves, and take photos in the backyard. You could even hang up a sheet as a white backdrop for a studio photo shoot. Once you’ve taken a few dozen photos, upload them to your computer and select the best three or four photos to print out. To make the day even more fun, gather together a few cousins or friends for a group shoot!
Create some artwork
Inspire your little one’s creative side by creating some special artwork. You can buy cheap canvases for next to nothing from discount stores, along with inexpensive paints and paintbrushes. Arrange a double layer of newspaper as a base and ensure your kids are wearing old clothes, as it’s bound to get messy.
