Kermit the Frog shares sweet memories from his childhood (VIDEO)
I’ve interviewed some of Hollywood’s biggest stars — Christian Bale, Rachel McAdams, Anne Hathaway, Channing Tatum — but when the opportunity arose for me to interview Kermit the Frog, I nearly croaked.
My love for The Muppets during my childhood was more of an obsession: My room was decked out with Big Bird, Miss Piggy and, of course, the world’s most infamous frog — and the Beatles-inspired version of “Letter B” was my daily ode. For the first time ever in my on-camera career, I found myself actually nervous to interview the legend, Kermit the Frog.
He was really coming in to talk about his new series, “Muppet Moments,” which is a new short-form series that will teach young kids about apologies, favorite foods and, most important, manners. But, of course, instead of staying on topic, we talked about his first bad word, frog inequality and the most formative moments from his child-… or, I mean… frog-hood.
Get to know Kermit like you’ve never known him before… and then stew in your jealousy to see how he said his final goodbye to me. I’m expecting to get a call from Miss Piggy very, very soon.
Muppet Moments premieres on Disney Channel on April 3, with a new short airing daily through May 8. New shorts will continue to roll out throughout 2015 and be available on WATCH Disney Junior.
