Royal baby watch: Experts predict Kate Middleton’s baby name choice

What will Kate Middleton name the royal baby? Many experts and royal-betters are putting their money on one classic name. Find out if they are predicting a brother or sister for Prince George and the rumored baby name that is fit for a prince or princess.

Kate Middleton announced her pregnancy early, revealed she is due “mid to late April,” but has not revealed the sex of the baby. Royal gamblers, however, have done their research, since they have a lot of money to lose (and win!) by guessing right on the sex of the royal baby and the baby name.

The highest odds are that the duchess will give birth to a baby girl and will name her Alice. Princess Alice does have a ring to it, right? Many think she will pick this name because there is a history of the name Alice in the royal family (Prince Philip’s mother and Queen Victoria’s daughter) and the duchess wrote a paper while at college on the classic story Alice in Wonderland.

Other girl names that experts are putting their money on include Elizabeth, Charlotte, Victoria and Alexandra. Middleton reportedly had said that Alexandra was one of her favorite names, and it also happens to be the queen’s middle name.

What about Diana, after Prince William‘s late mother, Princess Diana? The odds are lower for Diana as the chosen name, however experts say this name could be a middle name.

“It would have all sorts of associated baggage [as a first name],” Joe Little, managing editor at Majesty Magazine told Inquisitr. “But it could be Elizabeth Diana.”

Including Diana in the baby name is a sentimental choice that many royal-watchers would love, so hopefully we will see that.

If it is a boy, many are putting their money on the traditional name of James. Arthur, Phillip and Albert are also boy names that are at the top of the list. Charles is also a frontrunner, as it is also the name of Prince William’s father.

The duchess and Prince William will probably give their baby several names, as they did with their first child, whose full name is George Alexander Louis. They often stick with traditional names, but they might surprise us and include a more modern name in the list.
