Take the kiddos to the zoo on May 16 for a Kindness Safari

On May 16, 18 zoos across the country will partner with KIND Snacks and online retailer Zulily to put on a gigantic Kindness Safari that takes kids around America’s best zoos to perform sweet little acts of kindness for their animal friends.

Upon arriving, kids will get an activity book that guides them all around the zoo on a fun scavenger hunt to interact with animals. Some of the Kindness Safari tasks include writing a note to your favorite animal’s zookeeper and giving someone you love a “bear” hug. Kids will also be given flowers as they leave the zoos to pass on to someone else as a random act of kindness.

“This is our way of inspiring parents and kids to do kind things,” Sonja Hagen-Cole, who is a mom and also director of partnerships for KIND Snacks, says. “We see that the world can become a better place, one small act at a time.”

Hagen-Cole says they are anticipating a huge turnout for the event — more than 40,000 people across the U.S. Here are the 18 participating zoos.
