Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, will have a private christening service July 5 at St. Mary Magdalene Church.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge — or Princess Charlotte, as we know her across the pond — will be christened on July 5 at a church located on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate. People magazine reveals that the church is also the same venue where Princess Diana was baptized.
BBC News hints that Charlotte’s christening will be a private ceremony like her brother’s, George. Fewer than 25 people attended his October 2013 service that included all seven of his godparents and their spouses, senior royals and a few members of Kate Middleton‘s family.
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will perform the ceremony. “It will be an extraordinary honour and privilege to help welcome the princess into the family of the church,” said Welby. He also baptized Prince George.
As expected, Princess Charlotte’s attire for the special occasion will be magnificent in every way. Like her brother and other royals before her, Charlotte’s christening gown will be a family heirloom. A team of Buckingham Palace dressmakers and Queen Elizabeth’s assistant previously created the outfit based on the designs of a commissioned christening gown by Queen Victoria.
William and Kate won’t have to travel far considering the church’s proximity to their 10-bedroom Anmer Hall home (both are located on the queen’s estate). The couple, along with their toddler, Prince George, have lived in the renovated country home since the May 2 birth of their daughter. The Daily Mail revealed that William and Kate wanted distance from meddling cameras and royal protocol. According to The Telegraph, Anmer Hall is a more accessible location for William’s job. Now that his unpaid paternity leave has ended, Prince William plans to finish his training as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Even if you can’t score an invite to this royal event, at least you can look forward to the photos.
