Despite the fact that Bristol Palin initially called her second pregnancy a “huge disappointment” to her family, the daughter of Sarah Palin is now saying her pregnancy was planned. In her new blog post, Palin also insists she was never a spokesperson for abstinence.
Palin appears to be doing a bit of backpedaling. The 24-year-old recently announced she is pregnant with her second child, and in addition to saying it was a disappointment to her friends and family, she also wrote, “I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one.”
After getting quite a bit of backlash, she decided to post a new blog post in which she addresses the “giddy a$$holes” and insists the pregnancy was planned.
“So here are the things you should all get straight before you continue to mock me, judge me, and talk about me. None of us are perfect,” she wrote. “I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned.”
Palin has never revealed who the father of her baby is, however she did call off the wedding to Dakota Meyer one month ago. She has a 6-year-old son named Tripp from a previous relationship with Levi Johnston.

“Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on,” she continued. “But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!”
Palin also addressed those who criticized her for her speeches preaching abstinence.
“Let’s get another thing straight, because I can’t tolerate all the talk on this subject. I have never been paid as an ‘abstinence spokesperson.’ I was employed by the great people at The Candie’s Foundation,” she wrote, going on to say she speaks out about pro-life issues.
“When I realized I was pregnant, I knew I would be completely crucified. But I never even thought of aborting this child, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE,” she continued before calling out the website Gawker. “Sorry to the ghouls at Gawker, who said this baby is an argument FOR abortion. Not happening.”
She ends her blog contradicting herself again, saying that “this is not the ideal situation” — even though the pregnancy was reportedly planned.
“I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now.”
