George Clooney is ready to be a dad for the first time. His wife Amal Alamuddin is trying to get pregnant and she is reportedly already undergoing fertility treatments to speed up the process.
It appears Clooney really is settling down. The 54-year-old actor has long said that he didn’t want kids and they weren’t a priority to him, but his marriage to Amal Alamuddin has got him feeling paternal.
The 37-year-old human rights lawyer is reportedly undergoing fertility treatments to get pregnant as soon as possible.

“They recently visited a fertility center,” a source told Us Weekly. “This is something they really want.”
In fact, the couple, who got married 10 months ago in a celebrity-packed ceremony in Italy, are spending $15 million to remodel their 9,000 square foot mansion in the English countryside — and they have included a baby in their plans.
“The building plans include a nursery,” the insider reveals. “They hope to have all the work done by Christmas.”
With nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms, there will be plenty of room for more than one baby.
Alamuddin is also slowing down her workload to prepare for motherhood, as the couple decided they didn’t want to wait any longer for a baby.
“They decided that it would be the right time,” a source says. “Amal isn’t taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has.”

Just a few months ago in May, Clooney didn’t seem like he was ready for fatherhood, telling Charlie Rose in an interview that he really hasn’t been thinking about kids.
“I’ve been asked [about kids] a lot lately because I’ve gotten married and I’m doing a movie with kids in it,” he said. “I mean, I’ve thought about it, I suppose, but it hasn’t been high on my list.”
What changed his mind? Perhaps seeing his good friend Brad Pitt enjoying his close relationship with his kids or perhaps it was Amal who changed his mind — or he could have wanted kids all along but didn’t want to talk to the media about it.

Whatever it was, it appears he is taking the plunge. “George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother,” the source confided.
One thing is for sure, if the rumors are true and Amal gets pregnant, you know she will totally rock the maternity fashion.
