Heather McManamy is a fighter.
The 35-year-old wife and mother has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that continues to spread throughout her body. Faced with the reality that she may never see milestones in her daughter’s life, Heather found power with a pen and paper.

The courageous mom has written cards that her daughter Bri can open in the future. Ending on her daughter’s 30th birthday, Heather has a heart-warming message for the everyday along with special occasions — including her first tooth and first wedding anniversary. “I want her to always know that I did everything I could possibly do to be here,” said McManamy. It’s Heather’s hope that her notes to her daughter will provide words of encouragement and help her through the years, even if she’s not there:
Heather and her husband Jeff’s GoFundMe page, Making Brianna-Mommy Memories, is very close to reaching their $30,000 goal. In addition to helping with costly medical and funeral expenses, it will allow the family a chance to create the memories they want.
This is a touching story that not only shows the love a parent has for their child but also the power of words. Bri will truly know her mother loved her as she looks back on these cards. Heather’s relentless spirit and commitment to finding such a creative way to spend time with her daughter when she’s gone is nothing short of a beautiful legacy. The amount of thought and attention to detail that went into this project is certainly remarkable.
