Back- to- school planning for kids with allergies

Meet Megan. She is my spitfire little girl with a huge personality and an even bigger smile. She is sassy, hard-headed, loving and amazing.

Along with my personality, she inherited my seasonal allergies. I can hear them in her when she is arguing with me about which fluffy skirt is more pink. As the day goes on she sniffs and rubs her big brown eyes. With school right around the corner, I have to help make sure her allergies are not a part of her daily irritations. She has enough homework for that! I have lived with the irritation of allergies for as long as I can remember and the product that helps me is Claritin®. So it is only natural that I would turn to Children’s Claritin® to help me relieve my daughter’s allergies. Especially as the school year starts!

When it comes time to sit and read or learn their math facts, allergies can be a big distraction. Whether it’s rubbing their eyes or having an itchy, runny nose, it can detract from the task at hand. I see it at home. Reading a book becomes an interrupted activity with a sneeze, drawing a picture comes with the back of the hand sliding across the nose time after time.

I barely want to deal with her when her allergies are distracting her from her day to day activities at home. Imagine the extra burden on a teacher trying to teach her when she is in this place?

For a while now, I have combated her allergy flare ups successfully with Children’s Claritin® Grape Flavored Syrup. She likes it, which is HUGE for a child, it works and I like that it is the #1 pediatrician recommended non-drowsy oral allergy brand for ages 2 and up! It also gives me peace of mind that it is dye-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free, lactose-free and gluten free. One dose helps me give her 24 hour relief of her runny nose, sneezing, itchy, watery eyes, and her itchy nose and throat. In addition, I don’t have to worry about it making her drowsy.

Back to School comes with a lot of concerns. The kids need supplies, shoes, clothing and a plan for healthy lunches. They also need lots of regular sleep, a routine set up before the year starts and a good idea of how their day will go. Having allergies play a role in their day has no benefit. So while I am out shopping for all the other supplies, I will also make sure to stock up on all the latest Claritin® allergy products, including the Claritin® RediTabs®, in case my kid’s 6 and older need allergy relief, too!
