Boy or girl? Pregnant Kelly Clarkson enlisted the help of her adorable daughter, River Rose, to announce the gender of her second baby.
Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, will welcome a baby boy into their family. The American Idol alum posted this photo of her adorable 16-month-old daughter, River Rose, on a slide and revealed in the caption that “River’s gonna have a little baby brother.”

Clarkson made the pregnancy announcement in August, when she started crying while performing a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“I was not planning on announcing this, but I’m totally pregnant,” she told the crowd. “I didn’t want you to think I was on pills or something! Everything is great. I haven’t vomited yet — that’s a win!”
Clarkson had suffered with extreme morning sickness while pregnant with River. “I don’t know why they call it morning sickness. That’s my big joke right now,” she had said during an interview with the Today show. “It’s like all day and all night.”

The singer has been able to rest at home and spend quality time with River, as her Piece by Piece tour had to be canceled because doctors told her she must rest her voice.
“I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the U.K. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible,” she said in a statement.
The pregnant singer has been keeping a low profile since canceling her tour and announcing her pregnancy. However, she did share this cute picture with her daughter at one of her last shows.

As far as baby names go, Clarkson said while she was pregnant with River that they had names for both a boy and a girl.
“We already have a name for a girl or boy. We’re not saying because I don’t want anybody stealing my baby name,” she joked. “We named our kid before we were even pregnant!”
We wonder if they will stick with nature names for their baby boy. Bohemian names like Lake, Blaze, Leif or Mars all have a cool sound to them. Or perhaps they are looking for a first name and middle name that start with the same letter, like John Jagger or Milo Michael? They could also stick with the “R” theme and go with a name like Ryan, Ranger or Ryker.
