5. iPad
This is one of the things my daughter pooled her graduation money together to get — and uses it constantly. The one pictured is available at Best Buy. (Best Buy, starting at $250)
6. Laptop
Most kids already have their own laptop by the time they reach college. However you need to consider the age of the computer they are currently using. Is it new enough to last through the year? Nothing is worse than having one that goes down in flames during exam time. It happened with my student. The above is an Inspiron 15 1500 Series Touch from Dell. (Dell, starting at $300)
7. Spotify gift card
Unfortunately there will always be drama in the dorm rooms and lots of stress when prepping for exams. Help your student drown out the drama and relax the stress away with commercial-free tunes. Available at Amazon. (Amazon, various amounts)
8. Headphones
These are a must-have for tablets, laptops and music devices. Students will use them a lot, so buy a comfortable pair such as these, available at Walmart. (Walmart, $7)
