RHOA Kandi Burruss breastfeeds while having her hair done

We all know that one of the skills most mothers end up honing is multitasking. Being able to answer the phone, fill out a school form, make a PB&J and tie a shoelace all at once is just a run-of-the-mill day for most moms.Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss gave us a peek into her own multitasking wonders via her Instagram page.

Burruss posted a picture of her having her hair washed while nursing her son, Ace. She notes that this is her reality now and demands that folks save their negative comments. To be honest, I love Burruss’ photo for a few reasons, so I’m bringing nothing but positivity.

  1. She’s showing that all moms have to manage that multitasking magic, regardless of whether you’re on a hit reality show or not. This isn’t the first time Burruss has posted a picture of her multitasking. On her baby’s Instagram account (Yes! He has one!), Burruss is shown eating some food while nursing Ace. While Ace in only a few weeks old, I have a feeling these types of pictures showing Burruss managing to make things work while mommy-ing will become more of a regular feature. And I couldn’t be happier.

  2. The hashtag #KandiKoatedMilk is real, and it is fabulous.

  1. Burruss is normalizing breastfeeding. Every time someone posts a picture of themselves going about their day and that happens to include feeding their child, that helps normalize something that continues to be shamed, particularly on social media. Many people love to tweet out their disgust about someone in a restaurant or on the bus who is nursing their baby. The more we can combat that with images like Burruss’, the more people will realize this is something that is normal. And good. And none of your business.

  1. Not only is she normalizing breastfeeding, but she is doing so as a black woman, and that is important. Women of color have lower rates of breastfeeding, so to see someone like Kandi Burruss post a picture like this might just give other women the confidence to at least try breastfeeding (especially if it was something they were on the fence about).

  2. You guys! She has her own full-on salon set up in her home! That is amazing.

So way to go, Kandi Burruss. Even before this, you were one of my favorite Housewives (shh… don’t tell Nene or Kim), but this just solidifies it. Keep on posting awesome pictures of yourself doing your thing, being a mom, even if that includes nursing your little one.
