Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates’ baby name may be a li’l bit country

Erin Bates and husband Chad Paine of Bringing Up Bates have revealed to SheKnows that their second child just might have a sweet, country-ish baby name.

Erin Bates recently announced pregnancy number two, and of course the topic of baby names came up during an exclusive interview with SheKnows. First, though, she reflected on the biggest lessons she learned during her pregnancy and becoming a mom the first time around.

“The biggest lesson that I learned in my pregnancy with Carson is how precious and how fragile life is,” she said. “It was a very difficult pregnancy, and I appreciated much more what moms endure to help bring a little one into this world. But most of all, I learned how very grateful I should be for the opportunity to be a mom.”

She also spoke about how she learned about the heartache many others have felt and about the stories she received from others about their pregnancy losses or inability to conceive. Learning to cry with others, she said, helped her to learn to trust God in a way she hadn’t had to before.

When asked about baby names, she mentioned that they have names they like, both for a boy and a girl. “You’ll have to wait to find out, though!” she quipped.

However, their family members have jumped right in with baby name suggestions, as all parents-to-be can certainly relate to. “Our family is never at a loss for opinions, so I’m sure we will receive many suggestions throughout pregnancy,” she said.

Here are a few off the top of her head, and they are all gorgeous, country-inspired baby names that we adore — of course, as they happen to also be the names of her siblings (she’s one of 19 kids), they’re even more special.

When asked if the couple was hoping for a boy or a girl, she noted that even though it may sound cliché, they are hoping most for a healthy baby. “We would love Carson to have either a baby brother to play with or a baby sister to protect,” she said. “We’ll just have to wait and see!”
