With more than three months to go before their third child is due in May, Teen Mom‘s Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney are making progress when it comes to choosing a name for the little guy. They each know what they’d like to name him but, unfortunately, they don’t want to name him the same thing.
Maci told MTV that she wants to name Bentley and Jayde’s little brother Maverick, while Taylor wants to name him Connor. They both agree on a middle name at least: Reid.

Both choices are strong, masculine names. Connor is an Irish name that means strong-willed or wise hound-lover. It has risen in popularity over the past couple of decades and was the 52nd most popular name in 2014. Other famous couples who have chosen their name include Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and singer Eric Clapton.

Maverick is a bit more of an unusual choice, but it has also risen in popularity in recent years. In 1994, it came in at 978 on the Social Security Administration’s list of popular baby name rankings, and by 2014 it came in at number 206. The meaning behind the name comes from a 19th-century man named Maverick who wouldn’t brand his calves like others did at the time. His name came to signify “an independent man who avoids conformity.”

So which name will it be? We’ll have to wait and see. They still have plenty of time to come to an agreement, or find a whole other name altogether.
