DWTS stars give baby a name with a trendy finish

Break out your dancing shoes, and put on some music — Dancing with the Stars cast members Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Boss have welcomed a new baby boy. Maddox Laurel Boss was born on Easter Sunday, and his parents couldn’t be more thrilled.

Weighing in at 8 pounds, 15 ounces and measuring 22 inches long, Maddox joins big sister Weslie, Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship. And that’s definitely cause for celebration. The pair had announced they were expecting a boy via an Instagram post back in December, sharing a photo of the cake from their gender reveal party. But they waited until their son was born to share his name.

The name Maddox has roots in Welsh and Celtic culture, meaning “son of Maddock” in Welsh and “beneficent” in Celtic, though it’s also a popular American name now too. By choosing the name Maddox, parents Holker and Boss are in good company.

Angelina Jolie named her son Maddox when she adopted him from Cambodia in 2002. Not only that, names ending with the letter X are totally on trend (maybe thanks to the Jolie-Pitts, who have three children with names that end in the letter!).

It’s only fitting that Boss threw Holker a dance party for her baby shower — the two met through dancing, and it’s obviously a huge part of their lives. Whether or not little Maddox follows in his parents’ footsteps has yet to be seen.

According to numerology, people with this name tend to be introverts, preferring quiet time to reflect and recharge. And hey, dancing can totally be a solo activity if one wishes. After all, having solo dance parties in your room is almost everyone’s guilty pleasure (if you don’t believe it, just watch Beyoncé’s video for her song “7/11”).

Maddox has an expression number of 7, which also indicates someone who spends a lot of time in their internal world. People with this number tend to be philosophers, scholars and teachers, so Maddox may take after his parents after all, who are dance instructors to the rich and famous on DWTS, which makes them some pretty incredible teachers.

No matter what, Maddox will grow up to be exactly who he is. Congratulations to the happy couple, and welcome to the world, Maddox! It’s always a happy day when a family gets to add another member.
