T.I. and Tameka’s baby name was worth the wait

Rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, got a surprise when their baby girl came three weeks early on March 25, but unlike their little girl, they decided to take their time introducing her (and her name) to the world. The stars of the VH1 reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle shared the details of their baby girl — including her unique baby name that has an interesting family name twist to it.

The couple waited over a week before they shared the unique name of their baby girl: Heiress. Tiny, 40, announced the name by posting this sweet photo of her “newest Blessing” as T.I. fed his newborn daughter.

In case you missed it, T.I. and Tiny’s last name is Harris, which means their daughter’s name is Heiress Harris. Go ahead… say that five times fast!

The couple has seven children between the two of them (which is why Tiny called this baby Lucky Seven throughout her pregnancy), and they all have powerful names.

They have two sons together named Clifford “King” Joseph Harris III and Major Philant Harris. Tiny has a daughter named Zonnique from a previous relationship. T.I. has three children from previous relationships, sons Messiah Ya’Majesty and Domani Uriah, as well as a daughter named Deyjah Imani Harris.

Tiny shared this group shot of all the kids during her baby shower, calling them her “team.”

Short yet powerful baby names are an emerging trendy among celebrity parents. Kourtney Kardashian named her son Reign, while Kim Kardashian followed suit by naming her son Saint. It’s not just the Kardashians jumping on this trend, as singer Chris Brown has a baby girl named Royalty.

Although a baby with similar sounding first and last names may raise a few eyebrows, we do like how the couple slipped in a family name in an unusual way by switching up the spelling. Baby Heiress isn’t the first to have nearly the same first and last name, as Lauren Bush married David Lauren, the son of clothing designer Ralph Lauren — and she now goes by Lauren Bush Lauren. The only difference is that her first and last name are spelled the same, which makes it even more confusing.

Heiress may or may not be starting a new baby name trend, however the baby girl was excited to make her entrance, as her original due date was not until April 20, and she arrived on March 26. Tiny said she is healthy and was born weighing 5 pounds. T.I. was actually in Las Vegas performing and had to quickly jump on a plane to make it to Atlanta to see the birth of his daughter. Congratulations to the family!
