The East Coast of the US is a surprising source for baby naming inspiration

Whether you live on the East Coast or you simply love those gorgeous coastal towns and beaches, these baby names are inspired by some of our favorite spots along the Eastern Seaboard. Did you meet your partner somewhere on the East Coast? Do your ancestors hail from there? Is this where you took your honeymoon? Do you dream about lighthouses or tropical beaches? These are all excellent reasons to mine the names found on a map of the East Coast.

This list of names is inspired more by the geography of the region rather than the naming habits of its inhabitants. So while you might think that some of the more preppy names come from some of these gorgeous coastal areas, these names instead remind us of windswept beaches, New England port cities, hot sandy beaches and beautiful Atlantic Ocean islands.

From Maine to the Florida Keys, these baby names are inspired by the beautiful Atlantic coast, its beaches and its cities.
