Attention boy moms: Holly Madison may be your knight in shining armor

The thought of letting a doctor cut a piece of your newborn son’s brand-new, scrumptious little body isn’t something any new mom wants to dwell on, but if — like more than 50 percent of newborn boys in the U.S. — circumcision is part of the plan for your baby son, you gotta put on a brave face throughout the snipping.

Or do you? We’re wondering if Holly Madison has the answer.

The former star of The Girls Next Door has a 3-year-old daughter, Rainbow Aurora, and is seven months pregnant with her first son. Circumcision (the removal of the foreskin from the penis) is clearly an issue for Madison; when asked recently what her greatest concern about adding a son to her family is, she didn’t hesitate: “Circumcision!”

Her solution, we have to admit, is a pretty good one. She’s going to leave the entire thing to her husband, Pasquale Rotella. “You have to do it! You have to handle that!” she tells him whenever the subject comes up.

Circumcision rates have dropped in the U.S. in recent years, but there is still one procedure every 30 seconds (over 1 million procedures each year). No longer considered to be as normal as a vaccination — which was the case until the late 1970s — circumcision has become a controversial topic. Whether parents choose circumcision for religious, cultural or medical reasons, there’s a growing body of experts (and parents) who don’t support the practice.

Parenting is a team effort (when there are two parents, that is), and the quickest path toward familial bliss is to play to your strengths. Moms, if you can’t bear to make the decision of whether or not to have that little guy circumcised, we reckon it’s perfectly reasonable to let his daddy handle this particular decision.

Yes, we’re going to play the woman card. Let the big dude with the penis tough it out with the little guy with the penis, and be there to provide the cuddles and care for them both.
