Baby names that end in O, in general, aren’t that common in the U.S. — in fact, in 2015, there weren’t any of this variety that appeared in the top 500 baby names. So, to gather a group of super-cute girl names that end in O, we had to move beyond our borders to grab the bulk of them.

To be sure, there are a few we’re familiar with — Jo and Cleo for starters — but most of these have just the right amount of uncommonness that many moms and dads are looking for when choosing the perfect baby names for their little girls. Quite a few of these names have Greek roots, and while many Spanish names that end with O are traditionally used for little boys, that’s not the case with Greek names.

There are a few other origins represented here, such as Japanese and Chinese. But no matter what culture or language these awesome baby names hail from, we can agree that there are some real jewels in this baby name list.
