Liv Tyler’s 3rd baby is born and things are going to be different this time

Congratulations to Liv Tyler and fiancé Dave Gardner, who have welcomed their first daughter, Lula Rose Gardner.

Tyler shared a gorgeous pic on Instagram Sunday afternoon, showing the new arrival snuggling into her daddy’s chest. Lula joins big brothers Sailor Gene Gardner, 1, Grey Gardner, 9 (Gardner’s son with ex-wife Davinia Taylor), and Milo William Langdon, 11 (Tyler’s son with ex-husband, Spacehog frontman Royston Langdon).

Plans are already underway for Lula’s three big brothers to become her protectors. “Now the real work starts training her big brothers to all become Ninja’s, Martial Arts Experts & 24-7 Body Guards !” (sic) posted Gardner on Instagram.

Lula is considered to be a diminutive of any “Lu” name (such as Talula, Lucy or Louise). But Tyler and Gardner’s choice shows how it can be a beautiful name in its own right. Musician and photographer Brian Adams also called his daughter Lula, and it’s the name of a character in J.K. Rowling’s novel The Cuckoo’s Calling.

In 2016, Lula was the 669th most popular baby girl name on Nameberry.com, but back in 1880 in was actually the 39th most popular in the U.S.!

With two older kids (Gardner has custody of Grey) and two little ones, there certainly won’t be a dull moment in the Tyler/Gardner household.

After announcing her third pregnancy in January, Tyler spoke about the close sibling relationship between her first two children. “It’s amazing. It’s so fun. I feel very grateful,” she said. “They’re so sweet. It’s so fun. My older boy is 11 and it’s so sweet to see him with Sailor because there’s a big age difference and he just absolutely adores him so much.”
