Moms who travel alone with children deserve a medal. One kid and the boredom, tantrums, endless hunger pangs and toilet stops are hard enough — add two more of them to the mix and serious skills are required.

So Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer was right to feel mighty proud of herself for making the journey across the country from West Virginia to California with her three daughters. She shared a cute snap of her girls — 6-year-old twins Aliannah Hope Simms and Aleeah Grace Simms and 3-year-old Adalynn “Addie” Faith Calvert — at the airport.
Most moms would look at that picture and think one of two things: “Well done, Messer, for doing what most of us will avoid at all costs” or “I can’t actually look at that because it reminds me of that horrendous trip we took that time that took me 17 months to recover from.”
Still, there are always people who can’t see beyond the judgmental noses on their faces, so of course, not everyone who commented on Messer’s Instagram post had something positive to say. The mom of three’s crime? Letting her youngest daughter Addie go in a stroller.
“Really? Addie is still in a stroller? After three kids you have zero parenting skills, must me a West Virginia thing, I feel sorry for those kids,” posted Instagram user hprosnik.

So if Addie was, say, 12 years old, yeah, it might be a little weird that she was in a stroller. But come on — she’s only just turned 3. Three-year-old legs are pretty small, and there can’t be many things worse than an exhausted preschooler who decides to have a meltdown in the middle of a busy airport.
In fact, anyone who doesn’t consider putting a 3-year-old in a stroller to travel across the country could do with rethinking plans for their next trip. Not only does a stroller keep a child contained (whether they like it or not), it makes everything much quicker (those little legs don’t always move fast) and its handles are ideal for slinging bags over.
These days, it’s no surprise that people take pleasure in slamming a celebrity parent, especially a Teen Mom alum, but enough already. Messer has done a good thing for her kids and doesn’t deserve anything less than praise.
