Geri Halliwell has a big reason to thank Mother Nature right now

Move over Ginger Spice and make way for Mama Spice — Geri Halliwell is going to be a mom again!

Just over a year after marrying Formula One boss Christian Horner, 44-year-old Geri Halliwell has revealed her pregnancy. The former Spice Girls singer, who is already mom to 10-year-old daughter Bluebell from a previous relationship, shared a cryptic Instagram yesterday — a picture of a double rainbow with the caption, “It’s a sign!”

More: Yes, I had an epidural. No, my childbirth wasn’t pain-free

She didn’t leave fans speculating for too long though, and posted another image today, which left them in no doubt of her happy baby news. Alongside a sketch of a heavily pregnant woman are the words, “God Bless Mother Nature” (a line from Halliwell’s single “It’s Raining Men”) with the hashtag #mamaspice.

Late last year, Halliwell admitted that she and Horner, who married in May 2015, would love a child together, and would even consider adoption. Horner already has a 3-year-old daughter from his ex-partner Beverley Allen.

In July, Halliwell and fellow Spice Girls Mel B and Emma Bunton announced that they planned to reunite without Mel C or Victoria Beckham under the name GEM. The threesome have allegedly confirmed a comeback gig at London’s Hyde Park in July 2017 to celebrate 21 years of the Spice Girls, but who knows how Halliwell’s announcement could affect their plans?

At 44, Halliwell is older than the average mom-to-be, but she’s certainly not alone. Plenty of celebrity mamas — and regular ones — have given birth after 40. We wish Halliwell a happy, healthy pregnancy and look forward to the arrival of the new Spice baby!
