Freelance copywriter Perlongo shared a family photo taken shortly after their daughter Cleo James was born, and the caption says pretty much everything about those initial post-birth hours. Basically, it’s all a bit of a blur.

A Greek name meaning “glory,” Cleo sets itself apart from other girl names thanks to its quirky “o” ending. A short version of Cleopatra — one of the most powerful women in history — this name definitely packs a punch. Other famous bearers of the name are British jazz singer Cleo Laine and American silent film actress Cleo Madison. Another celebrity parent who chose Cleo for his daughter is Friends star David Schwimmer; however, it hasn’t ranked in the U.S. top baby name chart since the 1950s.
The couple has made headlines in the run up to the birth — but for all the right reasons. First of all, their pregnancy announcement was a killer. Then Perlongo rocked up to the MTV VMAs exposing her beautiful baby bump in a silver body chain and open jacket. Catfish star Schulman was the biggest fan of his fiancée’s barely-there look, gushing, “I’m just so happy to be the guy on the red carpet with the pregnant lady who is killing it, just looking incredible. She was already beautiful and now she’s, like, times-10 beautiful.”
The creative couple has also used their parenthood journey to draw attention to the need for paid parental leave in the U.S., making an ad to highlight the totally sexist fact that across the world, mothers get an average of 106 days of paid leave after their child is born, while dads only get an average of seven. They also pointed out that the U.S. is the only industrialized country that doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
If that’s what we get from this couple during their pregnancy, we can’t wait to see what they put out there now that their baby is born.
