Luddington — who plays Jo Wilson in the NBC hospital drama and also played Kate Middleton in the Lifetime TV film William & Kate: The Movie — is clearly excited at the prospect of being “a cool mom.”

More: Good news (for once) for older pregnant women

Luddington isn’t the only Grey’s Anatomy cast member with a baby on the way. In August Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia Shepherd, announced her second pregnancy. Scorsone, who is already mom to 4-year-old Eliza, is due in the middle of production of Season 13, but while she admitted it will be “challenging,” she said Shondaland is “the best place” to give birth.

The father of Luddington’s baby is her longtime boyfriend Matthew Alan, who is due to star in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Jay Asher’s young adult novel Thirteen Reasons Why. Congratulations to the mom- and dad-to-be!
