Gwyneth Paltrow has copped a fair amount of flak over the last few years, and not all of it was directed at the bank-breaking products on her lifestyle site, Goop. When Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation after 11 years of marriage, their intention to “consciously uncouple” attracted ridicule.

But fast-forward two years, and their critics should feel pretty stupid. If there was ever an example of how to parent during separation and divorce (the couple divorced in July 2016), it’s Paltrow and Martin. Whether you call it consciously uncoupling or simply doing what’s best for the kids, it’s worked for them.
Paltrow posted a photo on her Instagram page Wednesday that says it all. The shot is of Martin and 10-year-old son Moses locked in an embrace with the caption, “Here is to reunions, togetherness, family, and love love love. Happy thanksgiving eve, everyone. Love, gp.”

That’s how you do Thanksgiving, co-parenting style.
Paltrow and Martin, who are also parents to 12-year-old daughter Apple, often spend the holidays together as a family. At the start of the year, Paltrow shared a pic of herself and her ex-husband at Disneyland.

In March, Martin opened up about the separation, telling The Sunday Times, “It’s always out there in the media, but I have a very wonderful separation-divorce. I’ve lived a lot since then. It’s a divorce, but it’s a weird one.”
“You can come at it very aggressively and blame and blame,” the Coldplay frontman continued. “Or you can put yourself in the garage, so to speak. Take yourself apart and clean off the bits. Reassemble.”
Paltrow has been in a relationship with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk since August 2014, while Chris is currently dating English actress Annabelle Wallis.
