It’s a girl for Meghan King Edmonds.
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member and her husband Jim Edmonds had a very special Thanksgiving this year — daughter Aspen King Edmonds arrived on Thanksgiving Day.

Alongside a picture of herself and her newborn, the first-time mom paid tribute to her “incredible husband,” revealing that he didn’t leave her side throughout the labor and “essentially endured the burden of [her] pain for all 22 hours.”

King Edmonds said Aspen is a “healthy, strong, happy baby who loves breastfeeding and [is] already holding her head up,” and King Edmonds herself is clearly on a high after the experience. “I feel like the strongest warrior on the planet,” she declared.

Aspen is a quirky unisex name (although it’s much more popular for girls than boys) and may bring to mind the graceful poplar tree or the trendy Colorado ski resort. It first appeared on the baby name chart in 1993, and ranked at No. 372 in 2015. Famous bearers of the name include American voice actress Aspen Miller and child actress Aspen K. Somers. NFL player Michael Boulware also named his daughter Aspen.
Announcing her pregnancy in June after an IVF “roller coaster ride,” King Edmonds said, “I’m so over the moon, I couldn’t believe it the first time I peed on a stick and I saw that little line kind of get a little darker. I’ve always dreamed of this, but it’s still such a miracle. I can’t even describe the feeling.”
King Edmonds and her husband, a sports broadcaster, got married in 2014 and joined the cast of RHOC the following year. He is also dad to daughters Lauren, Hayley and Sutton and son Landon from previous relationships.
