Confirming that their son was born on Nov. 30 weighing 8 pounds, 15 ounces, the couple officially introduced Dimitri Portwood Kutcher to the world.
They also had a simple message for the public that suggests we won’t be seeing any photos of the new arrival any time soon. “We’d like to allow our kids to make their own choices on whether to have a life in the public eye or not,” said Kutcher. “We don’t want to make the choice for them.”

Dimitri is a Russian baby boy name from the Greek Demetrius (the god of farming and fertility) meaning “follower of Demeter.” It’s lingered around the bottom of the U.S. top 1,000 for the past decade and ranked at No. 905 in 2015.
Famous bearers of the name include Russian-American film composer Dimitri Tiomkin, American NFL player Dimitri Patterson and English actor Dimitri Leonidas. Pop culture references include the character in the Twilight Saga, the character in the Vampire Academy series and the character in the 1997 animated film Anastasia.
The name may be a nod to Kunis’s heritage. She was born in Ukraine (former Soviet Union) when it was occupied by Russia. Their son’s middle name, Portwood, appears to honor Kutcher’s stepfather, Mark Portwood.
Kunis and Kutcher are also parents to daughter Wyatt Isabelle, 2.
