Hamrick gave birth to her first child in New York on Dec. 8 with Jagger by her side.

Big sister Elizabeth Jagger (the rocker’s daughter with Jerry Hall) shared the same picture on her own Instagram account and also revealed the new arrival’s full name: Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger.

Deveraux is a French name meaning “riverbank,” and it definitely has an old-school, romantic quality. It’s not currently in the U.S. top 1,000 list, but according to Nameberry, it has risen in popularity by 1,745 percent this week, so clearly many parents approve of Jagger and Hamrick’s choice.

Their son’s middle names are just as interesting. Octavian is a Latin name meaning “eighth,” which is self-explanatory, really — the baby is Jagger’s eighth child. And Basil is a Greek name with a meaning that fits the son of one of the kings of rock: “regal.” It was a popular baby boy name at the turn of the 20th century, reaching a high of No. 328 in 1904, but it hasn’t been on the list since 1970.
