There’s always a new batch of Instagram-shamers ready to share their opinions online. The latest victim of a case of online mommy-shaming: Christina El Moussasharing a photo of her kids playing by the pool having a great time. Naturally, people would find some way to consider that a travesty. But El Moussa wasn’t about to let them go without a few choice words of her own.
The star of HGTV‘s hit show Flip or Flopfought back against comments on said Instagram post, which showed four young girls, including El Moussa’s 6-year-old daughter, Taylor Reese, playing in a small backyard pool while her son, Brayden James, hangs back in his PJs. The celeb mom captioned the pic, “Our first slumber party!! … 6 kids, a dog and 2 moms. So fun, crazy, but so fun … *sorry just realized kids in swimwear again… it’s cali people it’s what we do.*”

Instagram users immediately took to their positions and threw comments at El Moussa. One Instagrammer said, “No one is a hater, but as a mother it is scary to have a toddler being that close to a pool!”
The mom of two snapped back, saying, “OMG 1. It’s a beach entry if he fell in it’s only a foot high, he would be ok 2. It’s not his first time in or around the pool,but thanks for your “concern” aka judgement 3. AND most importantly I am right there and could be to him in 3 seconds SMH at this…..!!!!”

Many comments hearkened back to an earlier instance of mommy-shaming in which El Moussa posted another photo of herself and daughter Taylor in matching bikinis with their new French bulldog puppy, Cashie. Many people called the photo inappropriate, but the majority of her followers came to her support immediately.
While many similar users commented with concerns of appropriate content posting or safety concerns that El Moussa was apparently neglecting in her most recent photo, many others came to the mom’s defense, saying “Enough with the haters! Keep doing what you do,” and “I just don’t understand what’s wrong with kids in swim suits, or moms for that matter.”
