And the winner of the Ultimate Cool Dad Award goes to (drumroll, please): Dave Grohl for encouraging his daughter Harper to show off her mad drum skills at a Foo Fighters show in Iceland (extra cool points there for the location).
Not a bad Father’s Day for Grohl to get to share his love of music with 8-year-old Harper on a big stage.
Harper got set up on stage as her dad proudly shared the backstory of his daughter’s surprise drumming event.

“About two weeks ago, my daughter said, ‘Daddy, I want to play the drums,'” Grohl said. “And I said, ‘OK — you want me to teach you?’ and she said yes. And then I said, ‘Do you want to get up on front of 20,000 people in Iceland and play?’ And she said yes.”
In rock-and-roll daughter style, Harper drummed for the band during a cover of “We Will Rock You” by Queen — the first song she’d learned as a drummer. How awesome is that?

Her dad said proudly, “There’s another Grohl on the drum set now.”
Yeah there is! We look forward to catching more of Harper Grohl’s gigs in the future. (And nice fathering there, Dave Grohl — you win a hashtag too: #FatherGoals.)
