Disney, you are such a tease.

Now, don’t get too excited. Star Wars Land, as it’s unofficially known, won’t be opening until 2019. Yes, you read that right. Yes, we’re very sorry — we like immediate gratification too.
Disney has shared a lot of concept art in the past for Star Wars Land, but the company has now released a detailed model that will be on full display at D23 for the expo weekend. Nerd alert! (We are including ourselves in that description.)
“This is the most ambitious land we’ve built to date,” Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said. (Well, Bob Chapek, maybe it’s time for a little more ambition — get that sucker ready for us by 2018.)

A Disney Parks’ blog post is incredibly enticing (and we are having trouble staying patient, grrrr). It said that the new lands will “transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port, and one of the last stops before the Wild Space.”
Disney released photos of the video and model for those unable to attend D23. Want to pilot the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission? Oh, you will. Want to zip through a fight between the Resistance and the First Order? Yup. Your future as a Star Wars fan is bright, if fraught with long, painful periods of waiting.

Rumor has it that Disney will also reveal more delicious info during a Saturday presentation. 2019, you are entirely too far away. May the Force be with us all as we wait for our next Star Wars Land clue.
