What would you pay for a product that would lull your fussy baby to sleep — and keep her asleep all night?
If your heart is suddenly racing, and you’ve already yanked out your wallet, well, you’re not alone. Lulla, a magical sleep-aiding doll for infants and children, is at the center of a bidding war on eBay, demand is so great.

The Lulla doll was manufactured by Roro Care and designed by Eyrún Eggertsdóttir of Iceland. Lulla’s made of plush cotton — that can absorb baby’s usual caregiver’s scent — and has an audible, steady heartbeat. She also makes gentle breathing sounds for up to eight hours. Hell, we want a Lulla for ourselves.
The reviews are so impressive, parents are doing anything they can to get their hands on one. Originally, the doll was crowdfunded on Indiegogo — but it sold out instantly. Whoa.

Thousands of new Lullas are now in production, but the sleep-deprived know no patience and are scouring eBay for the Lulla doll. The usual cost of the doll is $69, but parents are happily grabbing them on eBay for prices up to $350 according to The Daily Telegraph.
Creator Eggertsdóttir came up with the doll concept to comfort preemies who had to be apart from their parents.
“The idea of the Lulla doll was born when my friend had her baby girl prematurely and had to leave her alone in the hospital every night for two weeks,” Eggertsdóttir said in a release for the Roro Care website. “That really struck a chord with me and it was then that I decided to bring the Lulla doll to life.”

Eggertsdóttir is a proponent of kangaroo care and skin-to-skin contact, but recognizes that for some infants with special needs, that’s not always possible.
“Nothing can replace loving human contact but the Lulla doll aims to be a second best,” it says on the Roro Care site.
