Madonna Posts Rare Photo With All 6 Kids for Her Birthday

In case you blinked and missed the fact that pop legend Madonna now has six (six!) children, well, we’ve got the proof for you — thanks to Madonna herself.

Madonna posted a rare shot of her whole family to Instagram on Aug. 18. Madonna and entourage — sons Rocco, 17, and David, 11; daughters Lourdes, 20, Mercy James, 11; and twins Stella and Esther, 4 — looked to be having a blast at the singer’s birthday bash in Lecce, Italy, on Aug. 17. The singer just entered the final year of her 50s if you can believe it.

As always (did you really expect any less from Madge?), Madonna was rocking a killer corset dress and perfectly on-trend beige hat. And don’t even get us started on her fashionista kids — especially her girls, who wore coordinating Dolce & Gabbana outfits (which you can do when your mom is Madonna).

Everyone looked over-the-top happy. We especially loved a shot that Madonna shared of a snuggle between her and Lourdes.

The breakdown of the family unit, in case you’re curious: Madonna is the biological mom of Lourdes (dad is Carlos Leon) and Rocco (dad is Guy Ritchie) and the adoptive mom of Stella, Esther, Mercy and David.

Stella and Esther were the last two to join the family — Madonna adopted them in February of this year. We loved her (uncharacteristically emotional) announcement on Instagram.

“I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” Madonna captioned the pic. “I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”

For Madonna, like for all of us parents, raising kids isn’t easy; she and eldest son Rocco notoriously — and publicly — sparred in 2016 over where he should live. (Rocco wanted to live in London with his dad, but Madonna had legal physical custody.) Things got kind of ugly when Rocco posted to Instagram that he was “so glad” to no longer be living with his mother; he has since deleted the post.

Nevertheless, Madonna and all of her kids seem to be getting on famously now, and it looks like the Material Girl had a seriously fabulous birthday. HBD, Madonna — we can’t wait to see what comes next.
