Actor Rachel McAdams of Mean Girls and The Notebook fame told InStyle in 2010, “Part of me is very attached to the idea of having children. It’ll depend on if I find the person I want to do that with.”
Well, looks like McAdams has indeed found the right person in partner Jamie Linden, a screenwriter (yes, we know — it should have been Ryan Gosling, and we’re not over that either). Reports have surfaced that McAdams and Linden recently welcomed a baby boy. Hollywood Pipeline also published photos that appear to show McAdams walking with Linden, who is carrying a tiny baby in his arms as the couple leaves lunch. It’s important to note that the identities in the pics have yet to be verified, and no rep for McAdams or Linden has confirmed the birth. But of course, the internet is lit with news of the birth and congrats to the new parents regardless. Rumors about a baby on the way kicked off in earnest when McAdams opted out of the premiere of her comedy with Jason Bateman, Game Night.

Linden — who wrote and directed the Channing Tatum movie 10 Years — and McAdams began dating in April 2016 and have only popped up once online together in an Instagram pic from a friend’s wedding in Virginia.

Us Weekly confirmed in June 2016 that McAdams and Linden were dating after the Virginia wedding pic appeared on Instagram. “They’re dating and he took her to that wedding,” a source reported to Us. The couple also attended San Diego Comic-Con in July 2016, where McAdams appeared on a Doctor Strange panel, and were also spotted in Paris together.

Although we’re still getting over the fact that there will likely be no Gosling-McAdams babies in our near future (no offense, Eva Mendes and Jamie Linden — you both seem very nice), we’re very happy for McAdams, the least-mean girl in Hollywood. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about the new baby boy soon? Come on, Rachel. You’re Canadian. It’s only polite to let us know the little guy’s name, eh?
