The former first lady tweeted, “Barack and I are thrilled to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their newest arrival!” along with a photo of herself and Barack Obama in April 2016 meeting Prince George for the first time. “We hope to meet [the new prince] soon for a Kensington Palace pajama party. I’ll wear my robe!”More: The Obamas Came for Dinner, but Prince George DGAF
Michelle was referring, of course, to Prince George’s adorable fluffy bedtime ensemble during their first meeting — the outfit that melted the hearts of royal watchers around the world.
Photos from that 2016 visit also show Prince George enjoying the rocking horse given to him by the Obamas. When George was born, the Obamas sent the young prince a hand-carved rocking horse emblazoned with the presidential seal. They also sent him a polo mallet crafted from an oak tree on the South Lawn of the White House. Not too shabby, eh?

Apparently, baby Princess Charlotte was asleep when the Obamas visited last time, and thus missed all the PJ-party fun. But the Obamas left her a puzzle as well as a snuggly stuffed toy version of their famous Portuguese water dog, Bo. They also gave the tiny princess an Amish rocking chair and personalized baby blanket when she was born.More: The Obamas’ New Portraits Are Simply Stunning
We’re hoping there will soon be a photo opportunity with the Obamas, William and Kate and all three of the Duke and Duchess’ children. Matching royal robes for all, please!
