Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester Reveals Her 2-Year-Old Daughter’s Job

We don’t hear a lot about Leighton Meester and Adam Brody these days — perhaps because we don’t hear a lot about Gossip Girl or The O.C. anymore either. But also because this married couple tends to keep their private life just that: private. They share a 2-year-old daughter, Arlo, but rarely mention her; Meester once told Refinery29, “I don’t talk about Arlo very much. I am very proud of that area of my life.”
So we confess we were excited to get a wee glimpse into their family life recently when Meester attended the third annual We All Play FUNdraiser on Monday. At the event, she spoke with Us Weekly about life with Arlo — and Arlo’s very important “job.”
“I’ve realized more than ever that playing is how they learn and work. When they play, that’s their work. That’s their job,” Meester said. “As soon as they get up, they want to play,” she added. “That’s how they grow, socialize, learn and develop.” Um, can we have that job too? Where can we send our résumés?
And how did these two alums of our erstwhile TV addictions get together in the first place? Meester and Brody met while filming The Oranges (released in 2011) and married secretly in 2014, the sneaky lovebirds. In a Reddit chat in 2014, Brody broke his silence on his married life with Meester, saying somewhat cryptically, “I do some stuff, but she does the heavy lifting figuratively. Literally I do the heavy lifting.”More: 7 Gossip Girl Audition Videos You Have to See

And guess what? Though right now Meester is working on a comedy pilot for ABC with SNL alum Taran Killam, she told reporters at the event that she would be open to reviving her role as Blair Waldorf in a reboot of Gossip Girl. Squeeeee! Someone get Blake Lively on the phone, stat!
