Patrick Mahomes just got candid about Taylor Swift‘s relationship with his daughter Sterling, who he shares with wife Brittany Mahomes, and we’ve never been so jealous of a 3-year-old. In a new episode of The Drivewith Carrington Harrison, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback explained how he gets baked goods from the pop star who has an affinity for baking — even though she “has never baked anything specifically for [him].”
“Sterling’s a big baker as well, so they make some stuff together sometimes,” he revealed.
AHH! So the First Family of Football’s firstborn gets to bake with Swift? Talk about a *ahem* sweet deal.
“She’s made different treats that have been around my house — muffins and donuts and stuff like that,” Mahomes said. “ … I’m not gonna say I don’t eat them.”
Brittany and Patrick’s 1-year-old son Bronze must not be interested in helping the Grammy winner in the kitchen even though we know he loves donuts. He’s probably giving Swift and his big sis some of his signature serious side eye from the other room instead. Maybe when he’s older he’ll want to grab a whisk!
Earlier this month, Mahomes — who is expecting his third child with his high school sweetheart — revealed the connection Sterling has with Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce. And it’s not nearly as sweet. In a post-game interview, Mahomes explained how his teammate went rogue with a risky (but exciting) lateral throw.
“I’m shaking my head because I told him before the play, ‘I’ll throw it to you so you can get in field goal range.’ And he underhand shoveled it across the entire field,” Mahomes said.
“It’s like I’m talking to Sterling,” he joked.
OK, so maybe the toddler isn’t always a good listener, but what toddler is?! We have to imagine that given the opportunity to bake “muffins and donuts and stuff like that” with the “Shake It Off” singer, she is at the ready.
Last week, Swift posed with Brittany at a Chiefs game and cradled her friend’s growing baby bump. The “Fearless” singer also signaled that she is definitely not pregnant by cheekily drinking what looks to be an alcoholic beverage from a cup with the number 87 (a nice nod to Kelce).
“Taylor’s sippin her drink like ‘NO I’M NOT’” one person wrote. Another said, “Lmao Taylor drinking in every one 😂 like not meeee.”
Even if she is a proud childless cat lady, she is definitely in her “Auntie Era,” supporting her pregnant friends and adorably baking with their kids.
